Refund Statement
ECM Australia and NZ greatly values any donation or donor. We act in good conscience to fulfil the intention of donors at the point at which they give. Once a charity donation has been given towards missionaries and/or other international projects, we are not under any obligation to give refunds. Decisions on refunds will be at the discretion of ECM Australia and NZ management.
If a donation is refunded, the associated receipt is no longer valid so it should be securely destroyed.
Donations and Refunds
ECM Australia and NZ accepts all donations in good faith. Whilst we understand entirely that giving preferences change from time to time, and that sometimes it is not convenient to give, we will not normally refund a donation that has been knowingly and voluntarily given to us. That said, there are cases where we will voluntarily choose to give a refund of donations that are no longer deemed necessary; for instance, a missionary has completed active service and no longer requires support. In these cases, we will seek to contact the donor to explain the change of situation and the refund ensuing. If after 6 months of efforts on ECM’s behalf to communicate that such donations are no longer necessary and a donor has still not updated their giving preferences, we will no longer refund the gifts received.
